Fall Flows – South Fork Fishing Report

Flows are now 4,100 cfs. As Palisades Reservoir gets lower, expect some turbidity – especially in the upper sections. Fishing on the South Fork continues to be good during first weeks of the fall season. Terrestrials on warm sunny days (mostly hoppers) can continuing the dry dropper action for most part. BWOs are creating some small dry fly fishing opportunities in softer fall water types – especially on cloudy, overcast and cool days. Fish are quite educated, so get ready for some technical fishing. Streamer fishing as well as nymphing will continue to produce fish during times when hatches haven’t started or just finishing up. Look for fish to move to slower water types this time of year as water tempatures cool. Enjoy the fall season on the South Fork!
