South Fork Fishing Report – (8.11.26)

Flows are now up to 12,000 cfs. As Palisades Reservoir gets lower, expect some turbidity – especially in the upper section. Fishing on the South Fork continues to be good during the dog days of summer Mutant Stones are out and creating some consistent foam fishing during the first couple hours of the morning and continued dry dropper action. Leftover hatches of PMDs and Caddis still around creating some spotty small dry fly fishing opportunities on riffles, eddies and other softer water types. Don’t forget about Mahoganies – we’ve seen some of those around during the recent cool mornings. Fish are quite educated, so get ready for some technical fishing. Nymphing will continue to produce fish during times when hatches haven’t started or just finishing up. Floating options are widely available so get out there and enjoy it!
