Flat Creek Fishing Report – (9.19.23)
The angling season on Flat Creek in the National Elk Refuge is now Open until October 31st! The Flat Creek opener was popular as ever and found anglers targeting picky fish in skinny water. The recent cooler weather has made Flat Creek a great option and fishing should just get better while fall takes a firmer grasp on the greater Jackson Hole area. Look for a mix of bug hatches to be dominated by Mahoganies, Snake Drakes, BWOs, Tricos and Midges. Hoppers, Terrestrials and Craneflies are also important during the remainder of the late summer season. Long leaders, light tippets and a stealth approach are the name of the game for Flat Creek! Fall time is prime time on Flat Creek!
