The angling season on Flat Creek is now OPEN until October 31st. As Fall starts around the greater Jackson Hole Region, anglers should start to see better hatches and conditions on Flat Creek. Mahogonies, BWOs, Calibaetis, Hecuba Drakes, Midges as well as Terrestrials are going to be your main hatches for the next couple of weeks. Cool and cloudy conditions can bring out Mahoganies, Hecuba Drakes and BWOS. Sunny warm days will keep Terrestrials active until the first frosts and below freezing tempatures. Traffic on Flat Creek is thinning out but it still can be a busy place. Concentrate on weekdays. Be ready for highly technical fishing. Long leaders, light tippets and a downstream presentation is going to be key. Keep a low profile and get ready for one of the most rewarding or frustrating fishing experiences in the area.
