Marcelo was born in Chile, South America where the Andes mountains put a lasting impression upon him. He grew up in the midwest fishing whenever, wherever, and for whatever would eat his offerings. Following graduate school, Marcelo moved to New Mexico where he directed a collegiate Outdoor Education Program and initiated and developed a fly fishing curriculum. Teaching people how to fly fish became a real passion for Marcelo as he was actively teaching academia and explored working as a professional fly fishing guide. Marcelo continued his guiding passion in Colorado where it became his full time professional career. Marcelo also grew as a competitive angler and fly caster, winning and placing in numerous fly fishing contests. After guiding for over 20 years, Marcelo decided to move to Idaho where he could continue to grow and enhance his guiding career and raise his family in a healthy and beautiful environment. Always exploring, developing and learning is what drives Marcelo. You’ll likely find him out on the water spending time with his young son Sebastien.
