Exploratory: Isla de Juventud, Cuba
Isla de Juventud (IDJ) off the south-western coast of the main island of Cuba is considered a premier tarpon fishery and is a spot we were able to partially visit in January 2022. We were blow away with what we saw and experienced. There are only a handful of places in the world where you can consistently target adult, migratory Tarpon in shallow, clear water and Cuba offers on of the very few places with virtually no fishing pressure. WCA is excited to check out this new destination during their peak season for the Tarpon migration. Hosted by WCA President Mike Dawkins and Vice President Chris Littauer

Fish Mongolia, Delger River – Mongolia:
As a watershed and landscape, the Delger is one of the most awe-inspiring trout rivers. The Fish Mongolia float covers a 150 mile canyon stretch with limestone and granite cliffs rising directly from the river hundreds of feet into the open sky. Crystal clear waters wind their way through deep gorges lined with larch and birch forests, creating an ideal home for very large Taimen, Lenok Trout and Grayling. Each night on the river is spent at a new campsite with Gers (Mongolian yurts) that come complete with summer stoves, comfortable cots and ample space to organize and layout gear. Rich, hearty meals with beer and wine accompany each family style dinner. Hosted by WCA Guide Zack Barrett

Located at the headwaters of the main river system, Sécure Lodge offers a variety of waters for anglers. Home to our best pacú fishing, Sécure also holds a healthy population of big dorado downstream. The Sécure guides and staff have developed unique techniques to target these sipping fish with dry flies, offering a remarkably unique jungle experience. This fishery provides anglers an extremely close and unique contact with the jungle. The transportation is via handmade Chiman wood dugout canoes (cuambas), powered by push poles or engines, but the fishing is 100% wet wading, with many chances for sight casting. Exploratory: Tsimane, Agua Negra Lodge – Bolivia:
As an important tributary to the Secure River, the Agua Negra River is a clear, shallow stream runs from east to west and offers easy, accessible wading. The upper sector of the Agua Negra is one of Tsimane’s jewels, thanks to its excellent number and size of dorado, pacú, and yatorana. This is an ideal place for anglers that want to sight cast, due to the clear shallow waters and rocky bottom. Fishing in this section of the Agua Negra is done by walking upstream and sight fishing in low waters, as well as prospecting for fish in runs and deep pools. Anglers stay in the very comfortable jungle lodge, built entirely from sustainable wood cut from the nearby jungle with the option to stay at out-camps at the headwaters of Agua Negra and one-day hikes to Chimoro stream. Hosted by WCA Guide George White.
