Sheridan Lake

Sheridan Lake is one of Idaho’s best‑kept stillwater secrets. Privately owned and limited to eight rods per day, it’s available by appointment through WorldCast Anglers. Located 19 miles west of Island Park, the nearly 400‑acre lake is famous for broad‑shouldered Kamloop rainbows, with Snake River Cutthroat and Brook trout adding variety. The lake is loaded with leeches and chronomids; early spring often brings multiple simultaneous chronomid hatches that can be hard to parse. We find uniform sink lines with 9′ leaders and 3X tippets fish well. Originally expanded from a natural pond for irrigation, Sheridan averages about 10 feet deep and reaches 25 feet in places. Sheridan Lake is a quiet, private refuge for people and fish alike.
