Scientific Anglers Amplitude MPX Guide Review – George Woodward
Every season, new fly fishing gear and tackle floods fly shops and the online world hoping to grasp the attention of anglers and customers. We pick some of our favorites from the WorldCast Anglers Fly Shop, put it in the hands our guides and have them test and try them out. Entering his second season with WorldCast Anglers, George Woodward is a versatile guide and angler that demands the same versatility from his gear. Check out his experience with the Scientific Anglers Amplitude MPX Fly Line.
“Having beared witness to the slickness of the Scientific Anglers Amplitude MPX fly line over the past several months, I believe I have found the ultimate fly line for chasing trout. SA
is known as a leading innovator in fly line technology and they put all the bells and whistles into the Amplitude MPX li
The MPX taper is designed a half line size heavy with more mass towards the front of the head making it the perfect match for loading modern fast act
ion fly rods. It is an extremely versatile taper and performs whether you are throwing nymphs from a boat or casting small dries to wary sipping trout.
The Amplitude MPX line includes a new additive for SA, AST plus, which essentially helps the line last longer and remain slick. Right out of the box the line slides through the guides like a hot knife through butter, but what has reallly impressed me about the line is its durability and slickness after heavy usage.
Guiding everyday from a drift boat my fly lines get abused, but the Amplitude MPX has outlasted the competition. While my other lines have cracked, lost their buoyancy and slickness by this point in the season, the amplitude MPX
remains slick and floats like a dream. I encourage you to try the MPX and witness the slickness for yourselves.”
