South Fork Fishing Report – (7.28.21)
Flows have been stable at 16,500 cfs. Let’s talk about the Salmonflies. They are the thickest that many can remember and they are still out. The Foam bite has been unreal. People are even hitting Salmonflies on the highway outside of the canyon and they are all over the upper river. Golden Stones, PMDs and Yellow Sallies are out in force as well. Small dry fly fishing is picking up but mostly in eddies, recirculations and slower water temps. The riffles are just too fast. Dry dropper fishing has been excellent and should continue. The South Fork is fishing in prime time summer mode. Be safe while you are out there, 16,500 cfs is no joke.
